Brompton Cemetery, London - MLA Degree Project

Our Masters project site was Brompton Cemetery in London.  The brief required us to create a new concept to generate income.  Whilst being ever respectful of the importance of keeping the existing reflective nature of the cemetery, it was important to think outside the box. I designed a revolving stage that would be hidden in the existing catacombs so the site could turn into an occasional music venue.

In addition, there is a sunken amphitheatre where visitors can have a place for quiet contemplation with a central pool for remembrance as water helps create a tranquil atmosphere.
