Country Garden in Surrey

The client wanted a colourful mix of scented plants to complement their house.  As the house is East facing, the aromatics would struggle next to the house so we incorporated a curved bed that would drape the garden with amazing colour and scent.  Artemisia arborescens 'Powis Castle' and Lavandula angustifolia ‘Hidcote’ amongst others thrive in this environment because they can bake in the summer sunshine.  Year-round interest has been created by large evergreen Taxus baccata balls that balance the colourful perennials.
